Corsodyl Alcohol Free Mouthwash is a specially formulated antibacterial solution that works to both protect the mouth from bacteria and plaque, and for the treatment of several mouth problems such as bleeding and irritated gums, mouth ulcers and oral thrush.
The active ingredient in Corsodyl Alcohol Free Mouthwash is chlorhexidine digluconate which helps to reduce the build-up of plaque and to treat and prevent mouth irritations. Good for those people who prefer alcohol free mouthwash for religious reasons or to prevent burning on sensitive mouths. Always read the label and follow instructions carefully, and if symptoms persist see your dentist.
Adults, including the elderly and children 12 years and over:
If you have oral thrush and mouth ulcers continue to use the mouthwash for two days after the healing has occurred.
For dental treatment or surgery you should rinse as advised by your dentist.
Depending on the severity of your gum disease you can use the mouthwash for up to thirty days.
A five to seven day course of Corsodyl together with regular brushing and flossing can help start the recovery for those with early signs of gum disease such as swollen or bleeding gums.

Reading the following warnings carefully will help to ensure you are selecting an appropriate product. Temporary discolouration on the tongue and teeth can occur because chlorhexidine usually forms a protective layer across the gums and teeth in order prevent new plaque from forming. Discolouration generally happens when you consume some drinks and foods such as coffee, red wine and tea within an hour of using the mouthwash. However, this discolouration disappears once you stop the treatment and can also be removed by brushing. Cigarettes and beer also causes teeth staining though this is not related to chlorhexidine digluconate ingredient in Corsodyl. Please read all packaging and the Product Information Leaflet before taking any new medicine and inform your doctor of medicines you are taking or intend to take.
