Ovex Tablets (Family Pack): Ovex is specifically designed to treat threadworm and its active ingredient is Mebendazole which will effectively kill threadworms though it may not necessarily kills their eggs which means the entire family should take Ovex Tablets for peace of mind.
If you or your children have threadworms, it can cause an itchy anus, especially at night. It is important not to scratch if you are affected as this gets the eggs onto your fingers and starts a cycle of re-infection.
Threadworm can be real burden in a family as it is possible for the condition to spread and infect all members of the family. This is why there are four Ovex Tablets in each pack as every family member is advised to take a tablet if one member is found to have threadworm.
While Ovex can effectively kill threadworms, it may not kill the eggs and this leaves each family member at risk. Simply ensure that everyone takes Ovex at the same time to make sure that the scourge of threadworm does not spread.
Mebedezole, the active ingreidient of Ovex, stops worms from digesting sugar and they die after a few days.

- A single dose of Ovex tablets will kill threadworms but may not eradicate their eggs, which usually causes re-infection and also infection to other individuals.
- Treating all family members at the same time (except children under two years, expectant or breast feeding mothers) is strongly recommended in order to prevent re-infection.
- Consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve.
- If a re-infection occurs, take a second dose after 2 weeks.
- Keep Ovex out of reach and out sight of children.
