Privacy & Security Policy
Protecting the privacy of our customers is very important at The Independent Pharmacy. In order to provide you with the best possible service we collect and store information about you and the services that you have used. We will never pass on or disclose any personal or sensitive information that we store about you. To ensure that we treat your data in the proper manner we are registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 (Reg no. ZA024585).
What information do we collect?
All the information you provide to us when making an order, including relevant medical information, is stored in order for us to provide you with the safest and most efficient service possible. We will never ask you for any information that is not required for us to fulfill your order.
How do we use your information?
In some cases we may share contact information with a courier to allow convenient delivery of your package. We will use your contact information to keep you up to date with the process of your order and on occasion to notify you of services or special offers we think you may be interested in, if you opt in to our newsletter. You will always have the opportunity to unsubscribe to these emails if you wish.
Will your information ever be disclosed to anyone?
We will never provide any sensitive or personal data about you to any third party unless we are required to by law and it is only used within The Independent Pharmacy to fulfill your needs as the customer.
We will use anonymised data to manage and improve our website and provide information to selected third parties. This will be aggregated data involving website use and will never contain any personal or identifying information.
All information we hold will be stored in accordance with our Security Policy.
Any information we gather whilst dispensing your NHS prescription received from your GP may be used to contact the prescriber if a clinically significant issue needs to be resolved.
Viewing your information
All information given to us by you online will be stored securely in your online patient record. You are able to view this at any time by logging into your account. If you think any information we hold about you is outdated or inaccurate please update it or contact us to let us know.
Any information we gather whilst dispensing your NHS prescription received from your GP will be stored securely. You may request a written copy of this however there may be a charge. You will need to make a request in writing to The Independent Pharmacy that we will respond to within 28 working days. We will require identifying information and a form of personal identification before we can provide the information to you.
At The Independent Pharmacy we take your online security very seriously and look to protect all the data you provide to a high standard. All data, including personal, medical and payment data, is 128-bit encrypted prior to transmission.
Our servers are monitored constantly and are protected by firewalls, the latest security updates and cannot be directly accessed via the Internet.
We do not store your payment details, our payment gateway is provided by Sage Pay who are Level 1 PCI DSS compliant. You can find out more about their high security standards at http://www.sagepay.com/security-standards
We are also registered and in compliance with the Information Commissioners Office in accordance with the Data Protection Act; our registration number is ZA024585.
