Description for Flomax Relief MR Capsules

Flomax Relief MR is an effective treatment for urinary problems such as poor stream, hesitancy, dribbling and poor emptying. It contains the active ingredient tamsulosin hydrochloride that relaxes the prostate and relieves pressure so the bladder can be completely emptied. Get relief within 7 to 14 days. For Men Only.

Product Information

  • Age: 45 - 75 years of age

    Maximum per order: 2

  • Pregnancy: N/A

    Breastfeeding: N/A

Flomax Relief MR capsules provide quick, effective relief for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) symptoms such as hesitancy, poor stream, poor emptying, and dribbling. Each capsule contains the active ingredient tamsulosin hydrochloride, which gently relaxes the muscles surrounding the urethra, making it easier to urinate and allowing the bladder to empty more completely. Relief occurs within 7 days. For Men Only.

Flomax MR is a once-daily treatment proven to relieve the symptoms of BPH in men over 45.

You can expect to feel relief from your symptoms within one week. The medication is sustained long term, which means it continues to work, when taken every day.

The prostate gland in men produces seminal fluid for reproduction. As men age, this gland can increase in size and apply pressure on other parts of the urinary system. The condition can make urination difficult, increase frequency of toilet visits and cause a weaker, interrupted urine stream. Flomax releases pressure and alleviates symptoms of urinary infrequency.

The active ingredient in Flomax Relief MR, tamsulosin hydrochloride, blocks alpha receptors in the prostate gland’s muscle. This causes the muscle to relax, relieving pressure on the urethra and allowing urine to flow freely past the prostate gland. This makes urination easier.

Flomax Relief MR are ‘modified-release’ capsules. They release the tamsulosin gradually as they pass through the digestive system. In this way, a steady amount of medication can be absorbed throughout the day despite only one capsule being taken. The capsules should be swallowed whole, not chewed, crushed or broken, as this would interfere with the modified-release action.

Pharmacist Tip

Prostate enlargement usually effects men over 60. Flomax can relax the muscles in the prostate, allowing a better urine flow.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is it used for?

Men aged 45 to 75 can purchase this medication to relieve the symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH), such as a frequent, urgent need to urinate, but having a weak flow or being unable to empty the bladder completely.

We can provide you with Flomax Relief MR Capsules if you are experiencing BPH symptoms. Please complete our questionnaire during checkout so we can ensure that the medication is suitable for you. You will need to see your doctor within six weeks of starting treatment, as he/she will need to assess your symptoms, confirm diagnosis and decide whether you should continue with the treatment.

  • How do I take it?

Take one Flomax Relief MR Capsule at the same time each day, preferably after breakfast.

    • Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not open, crush or chew the capsules.
    • If you forget to take a dose at your usual time, take it as soon as you remember. If you have forgotten to take a dose for a whole day, just leave out the missed dose and take your next capsule as usual. Don't take two capsules in one day to make up for a missed dose.
    • If you see no improvement in your urinary symptoms after two weeks, or if your symptoms worsen, stop taking Flomax Relief MR and seek advice from your doctor.
    • See your doctor within six weeks of starting this medication so that he/she can confirm your diagnosis.
  • How safe is Flomax?

The active ingredient in Flomax Relief is tamsulosin, the UK's most widely prescribed treatment for BPH for over 15 years.

Flomax Relief's long-term use has been clinically tested; it has been shown to be effective with minimal side effects.

  • Are there any alternatives to Flomax?

Herbal and homeopathic remedies are sometimes used for treating urinary symptoms in men, however, their effects are unproven. Flomax has been clinically verified to have positive effects on urinary problems in men. Herbal medicines may take longer to have such results.

  • How does Flomax Relief differ from other treatments for BPH?

Flomax Relief is the only licensed pharmacy medication which:

    • Only requires one tablet every day
    • Has been clinically proven to work in 7 days
    • Offers prescription strength without requiring a prescription

Flomax Relief MR is an over-the-counter treatment for the urinary symptoms of BPH. The drug gently relaxes the muscles surrounding the urethra, relieving pressure and allowing urine to flow more freely. It effectively relieves frequent night-time urination, the urge to urinate every few hours, weak flow, and the feeling of unfinished urinating. It's the one-capsule-a-day that improves quality of life!

  • How it helps?

Flomax Relief MR can be taken to treat the following symptoms:

    • Poor stream – Urine flow is weaker; it takes longer to empty your bladder.
    • Hesitancy - You have to wait at the toilet for some time before urine starts to flow.
    • Dribbling - Towards the end of urination, the flow becomes a slow dribble.
    • Poor emptying - You feel that you have not quite emptied your bladder.
