E45 Itch Relief Cream targets and treats itchy, irritated and inflamed skin caused by skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. Its unique formula combines lauromacrogols, an anti-itch ingredient, and urea, one of the skin’s natural moisturisers, to moisturise targeted areas for instant relief.

  • Provides quick relief for itchy, irritated and inflamed skin
  • Contains the anti-itch ingredient, lauromacrogols
  • Includes urea for intense moisture

You should try to avoid scratching itchy skin where possible. It can damage the skin and possibly lead to infection, both of which will prolong healing time.

The dry, scaly rash that accompanies eczema frequently causes severe itching, particularly at night. Sufferers - especially young children - tend to scratch inflamed skin which may lead to infection. Repeated scratching can cause permanent thickening of the skin.

It is therefore important that a programme of eczema treatment includes itch relief to manage symptoms.

E45 Itch Relief Cream treats and soothes itchy, irritated dry skin caused by eczema, dermatitis, pruritus and other dry skin conditions.

Formulated with lauromacrogols and urea, this itch relief remedy moisturises affected areas to bring relief.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is E45 Itch Relief Cream used for?

Relief of dry, scaly and itchy skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. Moisturisers improve dry skin conditions, particularly eczema, which tend to worsen if the skin becomes too dry. With regular use, they restore the skin's smoothness, softness and flexibility.

  • How does E45 itch relief cream work?

Dry skin results when the stratum corneum (the outer layer of skin cells) becomes dehydrated. Washing can worsen the condition as hot water removes the skin’s natural oils.

The urea in E45 itch relief cream penetrates the stratum corneum, where it readily absorbs and retains water. This improves the skin’s capacity to hold moisture and rehydrates the skin. The moisturising base of the cream also provides a layer of oil, which helps prevent water from evaporating. Both actions soothe and soften the skin, and reduce the scaling and itching of dry skin conditions. E45 Itch Relief’s lauromacrogols share properties with local anaesthetics and help soothe and relieve itchy skin.

  • How do I use E45 itch relief cream?

Apply the cream to the affected skin twice a day.

Avoid applying the cream to weeping, oozing, broken or inflamed skin because this can cause irritation.

If symptoms continue, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

  • Who shouldn't use E45 Itch Relief Cream?

    • People allergic to any of the cream’s ingredients. If you believe you have experienced an allergic reaction, stop using E45 Itch Relief Cream and inform your doctor or pharmacist.
    • Babies under one month of age.
    • People with infected, oozing or very inflamed skin.
    • People with severe reddening of the skin (erythroderma).
  • Can I use E45 itch relief cream if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

This cream may be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However don't apply it to the breasts just before feeding.
