Andy is a highly experienced GPhC-registered pharmacist with over 30 years of practice across a wide range of professional settings. His career spans extensive work in community pharmacy, prison healthcare and other specialist environments. These settings allowed Andy to develop strong clinical and operational expertise. Andy later progressed into senior leadership and management roles, from managing individual pharmacies, clusters of pharmacies, and wider areas and regions for major national chains. In these roles, he was responsible for driving performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting staff development and delivering high standards of patient care.

Recognised as a trusted UK pharmacist, Andy has also worked overseas in New Zealand, gaining valuable international experience and developing a deep understanding of different healthcare systems.

Areas of Expertise & Current Role

Andy currently holds a senior leadership role within the pharmacy sector, responsible for overseeing the operational and clinical performance. He ensures that each location delivers safe, effective, and patient-centred care while meeting all regulatory and professional standards. His work involves leading the clinical and operational strategy of The Independent Pharmacy, whilst overseeing overall regulatory compliance, ensuring that the pharmacy operates to the highest level of quality and governance.

Andy is also integral to driving business performance by implementing strategic initiatives that improve efficiency and safety, and simultaneously enhancing patient services. His day-to-day involves supporting the development of internal teams, providing coaching, guidance and leadership to pharmacists and support staff.

Personal Details

Outside of work, Andy leads an active lifestyle, having previously competed in road cycling and triathlons, and now regularly trains at the gym. He enjoys spending time with his wife, two children and their Vizsla dog. He is also a keen backgammon player and is ranked among the top 25 in the UK.
