Mariagina studied for her Pharmacy and Industrial Pharmacy degree at the University of Bologna. She then went on to qualify as a pharmacist with the Federazione dei Farmacisti Italiani (FOFI) .

Professional Background & Qualifications
Mariagina studied pharmacy in Italy at the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, where she obtained her Pharmacy and Industrial Pharmacy degree. She qualified as a pharmacist with the Federazione dei Farmacisti Italiani (FOFI) in 2024. Since then, Mariagina has gained experience in community pharmacy as part of a dispensary team and worked as a researcher in a local hospital.
Upon obtaining her GPhC licence and becoming an independent prescriber, Mariagina would like to become an aesthetician specialising in skin treatments, with a special interest in breast cancer oncology research.

At The Independent Pharmacy, Mariagina is a dispensary assistant, helping patients who have difficulty accessing healthcare, including access to GP services. Day to day, Mariagina assists with dispensing medications. Her work includes dispensing POM, P medicines, GLP-1 therapies, dispensing medications for NHS patients, responding to patient queries and applying appropriate prescribing guidelines and medicine use.

Effective patient communication, teamwork and attention to detail are among Mariagina’s top qualities. Listening to patients’ needs and applying the most appropriate approach to supporting them is particularly important. Mariagina upholds this by strictly adhering to clinical guidelines, understanding the patients' needs, and ensuring that all dispensed medications are safe and appropriate.
On her way to becoming a trusted UK pharmacist, Mariagina’s guiding principles are precision, which begins with understanding the patient, and integrity that guides every decision that follows. Working within a team of expert pharmacists allows Mariagina to thoroughly learn and apply her clinical knowledge every day, deepen her understanding of new conditions, and work towards becoming an independent pharmacist.
Personal Details
Outside of work, Mariagina enjoys playing tennis with her husband, practising pilates, listening to jazz and travelling with her friends and family.
