Buy Fucidin Cream Online - Treat Skin Infections

Fucidin Cream is an effective antibiotic treatment for bacterial skin infections such as impetigo, infected eczema, dermatitis or infected cuts or grazes.

The active ingredient in Fucidin Cream is fusidic acid. Fusidic acid is an antibiotic that works by stopping bacteria from growing and multiplying. This gives your immune system the chance to fight the bacteria and clear the infection.

It usually takes around one to two weeks for Fucidin Cream to completely get rid of an infection, though your symptoms may begin to improve within a few days.

As Fucidin Cream is only available on prescription, you’ll need to have a consultation with a doctor before you can access the medication. They’ll check your symptoms and assess your medical history to ensure the Fucidin Cream is the right choice for you.

Fucidin Cream Summary

About Fucidin Cream

Fucidin Cream is a topical antibiotic treatment that’s manufactured by a company called LEO Pharma. Fucidin Cream contains 2% fusidic acid. Fusidic acid is an antibiotic and is the active ingredient in the medication.

Fucidin Cream is commonly used to treat bacterial skin infections. It comes in tubes of various sizes (most commonly 15g and 30g) and is white to off-white in colour.

How Does Fucidin Cream Work?

Fucidin Cream contains 2% fusidic acid. Fusidic acid is an antibiotic that fights infection by stopping the bacteria causing the infection from producing proteins needed for growth and replication. This prevents the infection from spreading and gives your body’s immune system the chance to fight the remaining bacteria and effectively treat the infection.

How To Use Fucidin Cream

If you’re prescribed Fucidin Cream by your doctor to treat a bacterial infection, you’ll need to apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected area three to four times per day. Make sure you wash your hands before and after applying the cream (unless the infection you’re treating is located on your hands).

During your consultation, your doctor will tell you how long to use the cream for. This will usually be seven to 10 days. Always use Fucidin Cream for the recommended period to ensure your infection is completely cleared.

When applying Fucidin Cream, be careful to avoid contact with your eyes. If you do get some cream in your eyes, rinse it out with cold water and then bathe your eye with eye wash if possible. If you start to have problems with your vision, or your eye hurts, speak to a doctor straight away.

Ingredients

The active ingredient in Fucidin Cream is fusidic acid. Fucidin Cream contains 2% fusidic acid. This means that every 1g of Fucidin Cream contains 20mg of fusidic acid.

Fucidin Cream also contains a number of inactive ingredients. These include butylhydroxyanisole (E320), cetyl alcohol, glycerol, liquid paraffin, polysorbate 60, potassium sorbate, purified water, all-rac-α-tocopherol, hydrochloric acid and white soft paraffin.

Side Effects

Fucidin Cream, like all medications, can cause some side effects. Though these are uncommon, it’s important to be aware of them in case you experience any symptoms.

Possible side effects include application site reactions - such as pain, burning, irritation, stinging and redness – itching, skin rashes and eczema. In very rare cases, Fucidin Cream could cause side effects such as conjunctivitis, hives, skin swelling and blistering.

If you experience a severe allergic reaction, or are concerned about any of your side effects, seek immediate medical attention.

Warnings

Don’t use Fucidin Cream if you’re allergic to fusidic acid or have had an allergic reaction to any of the other ingredients in the medication. It’s important to be careful when using the cream close to your eyes or the eyes of a child.

Using Fucidin Cream for a long time, or over a large area, can increase your chances of developing side effects. You may also find your skin becomes sensitive to the medication. This can mean you have a reaction to the medication, or it becomes no longer effective.

Fucidin Cream contains some ingredients, such as butylhydroxyanisole, cetyl alcohol and potassium sorbate, that may cause skin irritation.

Do not smoke or go near naked flames when using the cream as there is an increased risk of severe burns. Textiles, like bedding, clothes and dressings, that have come into contact with Fucidin Cream burn more easily. Washing your clothing and bedding regularly could help to reduce the build-up of Fucidin Cream, but may not totally remove it.

If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, it’s essential you speak to a doctor before using Fucidin Cream. You may not be able to use the medication in large amounts or for long periods of time.
