After graduating from the University of Bath in 2017, Miranda began her career as a community pharmacist. During this time, she prioritised patient-centred care and completed training to administer vaccinations, complying with NHS services such as Pharmacy First, Discharge Medicines Review and the New Medicines Service.

Miranda later transitioned into the home care services industry, where she was responsible for checking aseptic and rare medicines and progressed to a managerial level within the pharmacy department. During this time, she undertook additional training and management courses to further strengthen her operational efficiency, leading external audits and reducing the frequency of near misses and incidents. This diverse experience has shaped a well-rounded, patient-focused approach to healthcare. As a pharmacist at The Independent Pharmacy, she has a strong interest in improving safety-driven approaches to pharmacy practice.

At The Independent Pharmacy, Miranda plays a key role in ensuring patient safety and the highest standard of care. As a GPhC-registered pharmacist, she clinically checks prescriptions to verify their accuracy, appropriateness and compliance with current legal and regulatory requirements. This involves carefully assessing dosages, potential drug interactions and patient-specific factors to prevent medication-related issues. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Miranda provides personalised support to patients by offering expert advice and recommendations on managing symptoms, understanding their medications and making informed decisions about their treatment plans.

Outside of work, Miranda enjoys travelling, karaoke and playing the guitar to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Travelling allows her to experience new cultures and broaden her perspective, while karaoke is a fun way to relax and connect with others. Playing guitar offers a creative and calming outlet in her downtime.
