Miranda Wright
Miranda graduated from the University of Bath in 2017 and began her career as a community pharmacist, where she focused on patient-centred care. During this time, she trained to administer vaccinations and supported NHS services including Pharmacy First, the Discharge Medicines Review, and the New Medicines Service.
She later moved into the homecare services industry, where she was responsible for checking aseptic and rare medicines before progressing to managing the pharmacy department. In this role, she enhanced operational efficiency, led external audits, and successfully reduced the frequency of near misses and incidents. To support this, she undertook additional training and management courses.
Miranda has a particular interest in weight loss medication and regularly attends clinical webinars to further her expertise. She joined The Independent Pharmacy to apply her clinical skills in helping patients achieve positive health outcomes.
Her diverse experience has shaped a well-rounded, patient-focused approach to healthcare, underpinned by a strong commitment to improving systems and fostering effective teamwork.
At The Independent Pharmacy, Miranda plays a vital role in maintaining patient safety and ensuring the highest standards of care. She is responsible for clinically checking prescriptions to confirm their accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with current legal and regulatory requirements. This includes carefully reviewing dosages, identifying potential drug interactions, and considering patient-specific factors to prevent medication-related issues.
Alongside her clinical responsibilities, Miranda provides personalised support by offering expert advice on symptom management, helping patients understand their medications, and guiding them to make informed decisions about their treatment. Her compassionate approach and meticulous attention to detail foster patient trust and contribute to the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred healthcare.
Miranda was drawn to pharmacy through her longstanding interest in how medicines work and her desire to combine science with everyday life to make a meaningful difference for patients. She is passionate about helping people understand their medications, manage chronic conditions, and improve their overall health.
She greatly values the trust patients place in pharmacists and takes pride in being a dependable source of knowledge and support. The ever-evolving nature of medicine continues to inspire her to keep learning, while reinforcing her commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care to every individual.
Outside her pharmacy career, Miranda enjoys travelling, karaoke, and playing the guitar as part of maintaining a healthy work–life balance. Travelling gives her the opportunity to experience new cultures and broaden her perspective, while karaoke provides a fun way to relax and connect with others. Playing the guitar offers her a creative and calming outlet during her downtime.
