What are Systane Ultra Eye Drops and what are they used for?

Systane Ultra Eye Drops offer fast, long-lasting relief from irritation and itching caused by dry eyes. These drops are recommended by doctors to effectively lubricate, protect and repair the surface of the eyes to make them feel soothed and comfortable.

These high-performance, sterile eye drops are also suitable for use with contact lenses helping to ease discomfort and blurring as well as helping to gently cleanse the eye.

How do Systane Ultra Eye Drops work?

These eye drops contain several active ingredients that work together to restore the lipid layer on the surface of the eye, which offers symptomatic relief of dry eyes by lubricating and preventing further moisture loss from occurring.

  • For use in the eye only. Do not swallow
  • Discard any remaining drops after 6 months of opening
  • Do not use it if you are allergic to any of the ingredients

How to use Systane Ultra Eye Drops

Systane Ultra Eye Drops are for use in the eye only. They can be used as and when needed to offer relief from dry eyes and while wearing contact lenses.

  1. Wash your hands before use.
  2. Tilt your head back.
  3. Place 1 - 2 drops in each eye and blink a few times.

Systane Ultra Eye Drops ingredients

Each 10 ml bottle of Systane Ultra Eye Drops contains: polyethene glycol 400, propylene glycol, hydroxypropyl guar, sorbitol, aminomethyl propanol, boric acid, potassium chloride, sodium chloride and POLYQUAD, 0.001% preservative.

Systane Ultra Eye Drops side effects

It is uncommon for people to develop side effects whilst using Systane Ultra Eye Drops, however, some people may experience:

  • The discomfort of the eye
  • Excessive watering
  • Blurred vision
  • Redness
