When you use Canesten Hydrocortisone Cream to treat the symptoms of sweat rash, you can benefit from a soothing treatment that is able to reduce inflammation and decrease the discomfort that you can experience as a result of sweat rash.

The cream can get to work on easing the irritation that can result from this type of rash and it is a very fast acting medication, which means that it start to work right away. The cream is very easy to apply, so you can enjoy convenience and simplicity while also benefitting from the effectiveness of a proven anti-fungal cream.

Canesten can be used to treat sweat rash but for excessive sweating other products are available to stop perspiration and the rash from developing in the first place. Driclor, Anhydrol Forte and Odaban are easily applied and to underarms hands or feet for more perspiration control.

Canesten Hydrocortisone can help calm the redness and itching of rashes. Ensure you apply a thin layer, twice a day for no more than 7 days and never apply to broken skin.

Adults, including the elderly and children 10 years and over:

Apply twice a day to the affcted area and gently rub the cream in.

Do not use for more than 7 days continuously.

Not everyone will experience side effects when they take medication, however if you do they can include:

Blisters, discomfort/pain, oedema, irritation, peeling/exfoliation, pruritus, rash, stinging/burning.

If you are concerned about these effects, or if the product affects you in any other way, stop using it and talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Reading the following warnings carefully will help to ensure you are selecting an appropriate product.

Do not use:

  • If you are pregnant or breast feeding.
  • On any mucus membranes or on the ano- genital regions.
  • If you are allergic to any of the ingredients found in Canesten Hydrocortisone.
  • If you have viral infections like shingles, cold sores, chicken pox, you are under 10 years old.

Please read all packaging and the Product Information Leaflet before taking any new medicine and inform your doctor of medicines you are taking or intend to take.

The active ingredients contained in this medicine is/are:

Clotrimazole 1% and Hydrocortisone 1%.

The medicine also contains the following inactive ingredients to make up the complete product:

Benzyl Alcohol, Cetostearyl Alcohol, Triceteareth-4-phosphate, Medium Chain Triglycerides and Purified Water.
