Other medications and Cetirizine
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you take, have taken or intend to take any other medications while taking Cetirizine especially medication for anxiety or stress (CNS depressants).
Food, drink and alcohol with Cetirizine Solution:
You may take Cetirizine Solution with or without food. Take care when drinking alcohol while using Cetirizine. It can increase alcohol’s effects. No noticeable interactions have been observed between alcohol (at the blood level 0.5 per ml, or one glass of wine) and Cetirizine used at the normal doses. However, like all antihistamines, it is recommended to avoid alcohol while taking Cetirizine.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you might be pregnant or plan to become pregnant ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medication. Like other drugs, pregnant women should avoid the use of Cetirizine Solution. Accidental use should not harm the foetus, nevertheless, the medication should be discontinued.
You should not take Cetirizine Solution while breastfeeding because Cetirizine passes into breast milk.

Driving and using machines
Clinical studies have not produced evidence that Cetirizine causes impaired alertness, attention and driving at the recommended dose.
If you intend to drive, participate in hazardous activities or use machinery, do not exceed the recommended dose. You should closely observe your response to the drug. You may find that the use of alcohol or other nervous depressant agents may affect your attention and ability to react. Do not drive or operate machinery if the solution causes you drowsiness.
Cetirizine Solution contains Sorbitol, Glycerol, Sodium, methyl and propyl benzoate.
This Cetirizine contains sorbitol. If you have intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this product.
The daily dose, 10ml, contains approximately 3.2mg of sodium, which may harm people on a low sodium diet. Glycerol can be harmful in high doses; it can cause headache, upset stomachs and diarrhoea. Methyl and Propyl parahydroxy benzoate can cause urticaria, or contact dermatitis.

Recommended dosage:
Adults and adolescents 12 years and over: Two 5ml spoonfuls (10ml) once a day.
Children aged 6 to 12: one 5ml spoonful twice a day, morning and evening, or two 5ml spoonfuls once a day.
Children aged 2 to 5: Take half of a 5ml spoonful twice daily or one 5ml spoonful once daily.
Not recommended for children under two years of age.
Active ingredients:
Cetirizine hydrochloride. Each 1ml of solution contains 1mg of cetirizine hydrochloride.
Inactive ingredients:
Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), glycerol, sodium citrate, sorbitol solution (70%), propylene glycol, citric acid, monoammonium glycyrrhizinate, purified water, sweet orange no.1. pineapple Singapore flavour
