IBULEVE MAXIMUM STRENGTH GEL
Ibuleve Maximum Strength Gel 10% provides fast and effective pain relief to the point of inflammation or discomfort through skin application. It has been designed and tested by UK experts to ensure that the ibuprofen penetrates the skin to the exact area where it is needed. Ibuleve acts quickly and effectively and avoids the side effects that are associated with painkilling tablets.
Ibuleve gels and spray contain the active ingredient ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
Ibuprofen blocks the action of cyclo-oxygenase (COX), an enzyme in the body that produces substances called prostaglandins which cause pain, swelling and inflammation. When ibuprofen is applied to the skin, prostaglandins production is stopped in the underlying tissues.
Less Ibuprofen is absorbed into the bloodstream when it is applied to the skin than when it is taken by mouth in tablet-form. Gels and sprays, therefore, are less likely to cause side effects. Absorption still occurs, however, particularly if you use large amounts of lotion on large areas of skin.
A professional or at-home massage done by you can also relieve aching muscles. Remember that the strokes should always be in the direction of your heart.
