What are Effercitrate Tablets?

Effercitrate tablets are effervescent tablets that contain potassium citrate and are used to treat cystitis symptoms.

Effercitrate tablets effervesce when dissolved in water, producing a potassium citrate solution.

This compound aids in alkalizing urine and alleviating cystitis symptoms.

Effercitrate Tablet warnings

Do not store above 25°C.

Always read the patient instructions contained within the packet.

If you are considering taking this medicine and you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Replace cap securely to protect the tablets from moisture.

If you have kidney disease, heart disease or high blood pressure, consult your doctor before taking Effercitrate Tablets.

Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Effercitrate Tablet dosage

Adults and children over 6 years of age: Dissolve in water and take orally. Take 2 tablets in a tumbler of water up to three times a day, preferably after meals.

Not recommended for children less than 6 years old.

Tablets must be fully dissolved in water before taking.

Effercitrate Tablets provide relief for the symptoms of cystitis by reducing the acidity of your urine, making you feel more comfortable.

Effercitrate Tablet ingredients

Each Tablet Contains: Potassium bicarbonate and citric acid. When dissolved in water the solution will contain the equivalent of 1.5g potassium citrate and 0.25g citric acid. A lemon and lime flavour.

Potential side effects could include:

  • Heightened urine output (this is likely completely normal and shows that the medicine is working).
  • Gastrointestinal discomfort (can be mitigated by consuming Effercitrate with or after meals).
