About LoviOne Emergency Contraception 1.5mg Levonorgestrel Tablets

What is LoviOne and what is it used for?

LoviOne is an emergency contraceptive to be used within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex or when a contraceptive method has failed.

It's important to remember that LoviOne is not suitable for use as a long-term method of contraception.

How to use LoviOne

How to use: Take the tablet as soon as possible after unprotected sex or where a contraceptive method has failed preferably within 12 hours and no later than 72 hours (3 days).

LoviOne ingredients

Each tablet contains the active ingredient of 1.5 mg levonorgestrel.

Other ingredients include potato starch, maize starch, silica, colloidal anhydrous, magnesium stearate, talc and lactose monohydrate.

LoviOne warnings

Read the package leaflet before use.

For oral use.

Do not take if you are:

  • pregnant or may be pregnant (see leaflet for further details)
  • allergic to levonorgestrel or any of the other ingredients in LoviOne.

Tell your pharmacist before taking if you:

  • are under 16 years of age
  • are breastfeeding
  • have used any of the following medication in the last 4 weeks as this can cause LoviOne to be less effective:
    • barbiturates and other anti-epileptic medicines
    • medicines used to treat Tuberculosis
    • medicines used in HIV infection
    • medicines used to treat fungal Infections
    • herbal remedies containing St John's Wort

LoviOne does not require any special storage conditions.
