Buy Doxycycline For Sinusitis Online

Doxycycline is a type of antibiotic that’s in the tetracycline family of antibiotics. It’s commonly prescribed to treat acute bacterial sinusitis, particularly for people who are allergic to penicillin.

Doxycycline works to clear acute sinusitis by preventing the bacteria causing the infection from multiplying. After a few days, this will kill the bacteria and give you relief from your symptoms.

If you’re prescribed doxycycline to treat acute sinusitis, you could see your symptoms improve within just three to five days. However, even if your infection completely disappears, it’s essential that you complete the full course of doxycycline that you’ve been prescribed. This will stop the infection returning and prevent bacteria becoming resistant to antibiotics.

Because doxycycline is only available on prescription in the UK, you’ll need to book a quick and discreet online consultation with a member of our team before you can access the medication. They’ll be able to assess your symptoms and your overall health to help find the treatment that’s right for you.

About Doxycycline

A member of the tetracycline family of antibiotics, doxycycline is used to treat acute sinusitis as well as a wide range of other bacterial infections.

Doxycycline is often prescribed when penicillin can’t be. For example, when a patient has an allergy to penicillin. Doxycycline is only effective in treating bacterial sinus infections and can’t be used to treat viral infections.

How Does Doxycycline For Sinusitis Work?

Doxycycline kills bacteria by stopping it from producing the proteins it needs to replicate. This prevents bacteria spreading, giving your body’s immune system the chance to get to work and clear the infection.

Because doxycycline has anti-inflammatory qualities, it may also reduce the inflammation that’s commonly associated with sinusitis. This could help you to feel more comfortable and ease the pain of your infection.

How To Take Doxycycline For Sinusitis

The typical dose of doxycycline for acute sinusitis is 100mg per day. Usually, your doctor will tell you to take doxycycline for five to seven days.

It’s essential that you complete your full course of treatment, even if your symptoms improve. This will help to ensure your infection is fully cleared and prevent bacteria becoming resistant to antibiotics.

If you take doxycycline on an empty stomach, it could make you feel a little nauseous. Try taking your dose of the antibiotic with, or just after, a meal to minimise this side effect. This is especially important if you have a sensitive stomach.

Ingredients

The main active ingredient in the medication is doxycycline, an antibiotic that belongs to the tetracycline class of antibiotics. Doxycycline is normally present as either doxycycline hyclate or monohydrate.

Other ingredients include hypromellose, sodium lauryl sulphate, microcrystalline cellulose and magnesium stearate. The capsule shell contains gelatin and titanium dioxide.

Doxycycline 100mg capsules also contain Brilliant Blue (E133) and Iron Oxide Yelloe (E172).

Side Effects

Doxycycline is usually well-tolerated. This means that most people won’t experience any side effects or, if they do, their symptoms will be mild and will disappear when they stop taking the antibiotic.

The most common side effects of doxycycline are nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. You may also find that your skin becomes more sensitive to UV light when taking the medication.

In rare cases, doxycycline could cause a more severe allergic reaction. If you have an allergic reaction - such as issues with breathing, swollen face or mouth, or a rash, it’s important to seek medical attention straight away. If you’re concerned about any of the symptoms you’re experiencing, contact a member of our clinical support team.

Warnings

If you take antacids containing magnesium, aluminium or calcium, iron products, laxatives containing magnesium or calcium supplements, they could interfere with doxycycline, making it less effective. Make sure you take your dose of doxycycline one to two hours before or after your supplements to minimise interactions.

Doxycycline may make your skin more sensitive to UV light. This means that you may burn more easily when out in the sun.

The antibiotic may make oral contraceptives (the pill) less effective and could also interact with blood thinners like warfarin.

Doxycycline is not recommended during pregnancy as it could affect the tooth and bone development of your baby. If you’re breastfeeding, you may be able to take a very short course of doxycycline, though it’s important to tell your doctor that you’re breastfeeding during your consultation.
