Prescription Skin Infection Treatment Tablets are an antibiotic. It works by stopping bacteria from growing and multiplying. This helps your immune system clear the infection and reduce symptoms such as redness, swelling and pain.

How To Use Prescription Skin Infection Treatment Tablets

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. For severe skin and soft tissue infections, the usual dose for adults is one 500mg tablet twice daily (every 12 hours). Treatment usually lasts 5 to 14 days. Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food.

Side Effects

Do not take clarithromycin if you are allergic to the active ingredient or other macrolide antibiotics such as erythromycin or azithromycin.

It must not be taken with certain medicines, including ergotamine, oral midazolam, some heart rhythm medicines, lovastatin or simvastatin.
