Estradot Conti Transdermal Patches (Oestrogen and Progestogen) Information
What Is Estradot Conti?
Estradot Conti is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) that provides relief from symptoms experienced after menopause. It contains two types of hormones: an oestrogen and a progestogen.
Can I Use Estradot Conti?
You may be prescribed Estradot Conti if you are postmenopausal, have not had a natural period for at least 12 months, and your symptoms significantly affect your daily life.
How Do Estradot Conti Transdermal Patches Work?
Estradot Conti is a transdermal matrix patch that delivers a continuous combined dose of oestrogen and progestogen. Each patch releases a specific amount of hormone over 24 hours.
Alternatives to Estradot Conti Transdermal Patches
If Estradot Conti is not suitable for you, other HRT options may be considered, including alternative combined patches such as Evorel Sequi . A prescriber will advise based on your symptoms and medical history.
How To Use Estradot Conti Transdermal Patches
Estradot Conti should be applied twice a week, with a new patch applied every 3 or 4 days.
- Clean the skin thoroughly before applying the patch. Skin must be dry and free from oil.
- Remove the patch from the pack and peel off the transparent protective film. Do not touch the adhesive layer of the patch.
- Place the adhesive part of the patch evenly on the skin. Remove the remaining protective film and press the rest of the patch down.
- Press the patch firmly for one minute with the flat part of your hand.
Stick the patch on an area of the skin where there is minimal skin wrinkling during movement, such as the side of the upper thigh. Do not apply the patch to the breast, or to red, injured or hairy skin. When applied correctly, each patch should remain in place for at least 4 days.

Estradot Conti HRT Patch FAQs
Who should consider Estradot Conti HRT patches?
Estradot Conti patches are used for postmenopausal women (at least one year since their last natural period) seeking relief from symptoms such as hot flushes, mood swings and night sweats.
Who are Estradot Conti HRT patches not suitable for?
Estradot Conti patches are unsuitable for women with a history of certain cancers, such as breast or womb cancer. They are also unsuitable for women with a history of blood clots, endometrial hyperplasia, liver disease or rare blood disorders. Please read the Patient Information Leaflet for detailed information.
What’s the difference between Estradot Patches and Estradot Conti Patches?
Estradot patches are also an HRT used to relieve postmenopausal symptoms. They differ from Estradot Conti patches because they contain only one active ingredient: estradiol.
What’s the difference between Estradot Conti and Evorel Conti?
Estradot Conti and Evorel Conti are both HRT patches that steadily release combined hormones to help relieve menopausal symptoms. They have the same active ingredients (estradiol hemihydrate and norethisterone acetate), but the key differences are in the dosage, other ingredients and number of patches per box.
What is the best HRT patch for me?
HRT patches offer several benefits compared with other popular HRTs, such as gels or tablets. These include being available in multiple formulations, easy to use and non-invasive. Every product is different, with some offering combined or oestrogen-only hormones, so it is important that you talk to a registered pharmacist about your options. Read our guide to the best HRT patches for more information.
How effective are Estradot Conti Patches?
Some people begin to notice an improvement in symptoms within the first few months of treatment. However, responses to HRT vary, and your prescriber will review your treatment regularly to ensure it remains suitable for you.
