Buy Ovex Tablets/Suspension Online

If threadworms have made an unwelcome appearance in your family, then Ovex can offer you rapid relief. Available in a single tablet or as an easy-to-take banana-flavoured suspension, it’s a simple one-dose treatment to stop the infection in its tracks.

Whether you prefer tablets or liquid, both contain the active ingredient mebendazole. It’s this ingredient which prevents the threadworms from absorbing sugar – something they need to survive. It clears the infection and gets you and your family worm free fast.

You can treat an individual or your whole household at once which is often recommended since threadworms spread easily and you don’t want to risk reinfection.

Buying Ovex is quick and discreet. Just choose the treatment you prefer, and we’ll send it straight to your home in discreet packaging. Don’t put up with the itchiness of threadworms anymore, banish them today for good.

Ovex Tablets and Suspension Summary

About Ovex Tablets and Suspension

Ovex is a simple, fast-acting anti-worm treatment that helps clear up threadworms for the whole family. It may also be used to treat other worm infections like whipworm, roundworm and hookworm.

You can take it as a tablet or go for the easy-to-swallow, banana-flavoured suspension which is great for little ones or anyone who prefers liquid medicine. It works by killing the worms and helping stop the infection from spreading, so you can get back to normal, itch-free life quickly. One dose is usually all you need to feel better.

How Does Ovex Tablets/Suspension Work?

Ovex belongs to a group of medicines known as anthelmintic. Basically it gets rid of worms.

Threadworms feed on sugar in your body to survive and multiply, but Ovex stops them from absorbing what they need. Without that fuel the worms normally die off and are passed out of your system after a few days.

Ovex only kills off adult worms, not eggs, so you need to practice really good hygiene with regular handwashing for at least six weeks after to prevent reinfection.

How To Take/Use Ovex Tablets/Suspension

Ovex is designed to treat the whole family (adults and children over two) with a single dose per person. If you opt for the tablets all you need to do is chew or swallow one tablet for it to start working. If you choose the suspension, take one 5ml dose of the liquid using the measuring cup provided.

If you’re reinfected our healthcare professionals may recommend you take a second dose after two weeks.

Ingredients

The active ingredient in Ovex is mebendazole – 100mg per 5ml of suspension or per tablet.

The other ingredients are in the suspension are sucrose, microcrystalline cellulose and carmellose sodium, methylcellulose, methylparahydroxybenzoate (E218), propylparahydroxybenzoate (E216), sodium laurilsulfate, banana flavour, (containing propylene glycol (E1520)), citric acid monohydrate and purified water.

The ingredients in the tablets are microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycollate, talc, maize starch, sodium saccharin, magnesium stearate, cottonseed oil – hydrogenated, orange flavour, colloidal anhydrous silica, sodium laurilsulfate and orange yellow S (E110).

Side Effects

As with any medication you may experience some side effects when taking Ovex though not everyone does. You may notice some mild stomach pain (One in 10) while a few people will get wind or diarrhoea (One in 100).

Side effects are usually mild and short-lived but if they persist or become more severe speak to one of our healthcare professionals or your GP.

For the full list of possible side effects see the Patient Information Leaflet. It is essential when purchasing Ovex that you read this leaflet thoroughly.

What If The Worms Are Still Moving

It can take up to 3 days for Ovex to kill mature threadworms and for them to be excreted in your stool.

If you continue to notice active worms in your stool a week after taking Ovex you should speak to a doctor or pharmacist as they may advise you to take a second dose after 2 weeks.

Warnings

Ovex is well tolerated in most adults and children, but you shouldn’t take it at the same time as certain antibiotics because this can cause severe skin reactions. You shouldn’t take it if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding. The treatment is also not suitable for children under two.

If you’re intolerant to some sugars, taking Metronidazole, an antibiotic, or Cimetidine for excess stomach acid speak to our healthcare professionals first to make sure it’s the right treatment for you.

Ovex In Pregnancy And Breastfeeding

Ovex is not suitable for the treatment of worms in those that are pregnant or breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist for advice if you believe you have worms or a household member currently has symptoms.

Please be aware this is not an exhaustive list of Warnings. For full details on Warnings and Precautions surrounding the administration of Ovex, please read the Patient Information Leaflet.
