Doublebase Dayleve Information
What is Doublebase Dayleve Gel?
Doublebase Dayleve Gel is a new, long-lasting emollient gel from Dermal Labs that has been specifically designed to reduce the number of times that an emollient needs to be applied. It contains emollient oils and a high level of glycerol (a humectant) and povidone (a film forming agent) to lock water into the skin. The two oils in Doublebase Dayleve Gel help soften, moisturise and protect the skin by trapping moisture and restoring the normal protective function of the skin whilst remaining non-greasy.
Doublebase Dayleve Gel can be used by all age groups from babies to the elderly. It is a long lasting highly moisturising treatment for regular first-line treatment and prevention of dry or chapped skin conditions which may also be itchy, irritated, or inflamed.
Doublebase Dayleve Gel may also be used in addition to other topical treatments, such as corticosteroid treatments during a flare-up. You should wait for other topical treatments to be fully absorbed by the skin before applying the next topical treatment.
Doublebase Dayleve Gel is convenient for those patients who find it can effectively moisturise the skin, even if only applied twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. This may be helpful if it is difficult to re-apply an emollient during the school or working day.
How does it work?
The active ingredients, isopropyl myristate and liquid paraffin, encourage rehydration and softening of dry skin by forming an protective barrier within the skin surface (epidermis), and therefore reduces drying from evaporation of water from the lower layers of skin.
Doublebase Dayleve Gel is designed to deliver the emollient ingredients into the stratum corneum when gently applied to areas of dry skin, it is relatively non-greasy despite its high oil content.
Doublebase Dayleve vs Doublebase Gel
With all the emollients on the market, it can be hard to know which one is best for your situation. Doublebase Dayleve Gel has been designed to offer the same moisturising properties as Doublebase Gel but only requiring twice daily application rather than three to four times daily, which can be inconvenient with your daily routine.

How to use Doublebase Dayleve Gel
Doublebase Dayleve Gel is for external use only. It should only be applied to the skin and you should avoid the eyes, mouth, and internal genitals.
It can be used by adults, the elderly, infants and children.
- Apply Doublebase Dayleve Gel to the affected areas morning and night, or as often as necessary.
- For best results use a few gentle strokes to smooth Doublebase Dayleve Gel across the skin in the same direction as hair growth. If necessary, allow time for any excess to soak in. Do not rub vigorously.
- Doublebase Dayleve Gel may also be applied before washing, showering or having a bath to prevent further drying of the skin.
If additional topical treatments are being used on the same skin areas, Doublebase Dayleve Gel should be applied between these applications. Always ensure that other topical treatments have fully absorbed before applying the next treatment to avoid dilution.
