Nasonex Nasal Spray

Nasonex is a prescription-only hay fever treatment. For that reason, to ensure the safety of our patients and the legal operating of our pharmacy, we only supply a maximum of 3 packs of treatment at one time.

Each use (or actuation) of Nasonex delivers 50 micrograms of a corticosteroid called mometasone furoate. It also contains several inactive ingredients. For more details, please see the ‘Ingredients’ tab above.

The active ingredient in Nasonex, mometasone furoate, works by controlling the inflammation of the nasal passages that occurs in response to allergens in the air. This reduces swelling and mucus production, providing relief from the symptoms of allergic rhinitis. It also treats nasal polyps, small growths that may appear in the nasal passages alongside hay fever symptoms.

Press the button once to release one dose of Nasonex. The recommended initial dose is two doses for each nostril, once per day. Inhale gently, so as to keep the medicine in the nasal passages rather than the lungs. You should notice your symptoms improving within 12 hours, though it will likely take a few days for Nasonex to reach its full effect.

Yes – it is very common to use both treatments simultaneously. However, do not use multiple steroid nasal sprays at the same time.
